Lead credits vs verification credits: what's the difference?

Consulti has two credit pools — lead credits for the leads database and verification credits for external email verification. They are not interchangeable.

Lead credits vs verification credits

You'll see two credit balances in the navbar: Lead credits and Verification credits. They're separate pools, and they pay for different things.

If you've asked "why do I have two credit numbers", "what are verification credits", "are these the same credits", or "I have lead credits but the verifier still asks me to upgrade" — this is the answer.

What each one pays for

| Credit | Pays for | Examples | |---|---|---| | Lead credits | Unlocking and exporting leads from the Consulti databases | B2B Leads, Local Leads, Creator Leads, API search billing | | Verification credits | Verifying external emails — emails that did not come from a Consulti database | Single Verify, Bulk Verifier (Hypercleaner), Email Finder |

Database leads are free to verify. Any email you unlock from B2B Leads, Local Leads, or Creator Leads is already verified — you do not spend verification credits on it.

They are not interchangeable

Lead credits cannot be used to verify external lists, and verification credits cannot unlock database leads. Each pool has its own balance and its own packs.

How to top up

  • Lead credits — included in your subscription tier (Free / Pro $97 / Scale $197 / Enterprise $397). Upgrade at /pricing.
  • Verification credits — sold as add-on packs: Starter ($29 / 10K), Professional ($99 / 100K), Volume ($299 / 1M). Click Buy more on the verification pill in the navbar, or buy from Settings → Subscription.

Where to check your balances

  • Navbar pills — the two pills next to your avatar show current / monthly limit for each pool, with color thresholds (green > 50%, amber 21-50%, red ≤ 20%).
  • Settings → Subscription — full breakdown with progress bars, tier badge, and weekly-cap (free tier) or rollover hint (paid).

Free tier signup bonus

New free signups get 1,000 verification credits automatically. They're SMTP-only (good for the Single Verifier and Bulk Verifier) and do not roll over month to month.
